Don't Quit Coffee. Rethink the Caffeine.

No productivity hack required. Just real coffee with about half the caffeine of a typical brewed cup.

A hand holding a bag of STILL Mushroom Coffee against a red backdrop
Same coffee ritual, less caffeine. STILL™ Mushroom Coffee, 230 g bag.

It's 10:40. You're on coffee number two. The to-do list got longer, there are eleven tabs open, and you haven't really started the thing that matters.

You feel switched on. Just not settled in.

If that's ever been your morning, this isn't a lecture about quitting coffee. It's about what's in the cup.

Or keep reading: 6 minutes, no pop-ups, no countdown timers.
Sound familiar?

The coffee routine that quietly got out of hand

  • Reaching for another coffee before lunch, mostly out of habit.
  • Feeling more wired than focused after the second or third cup.
  • A long to-do list and a hard time settling into the first real task.
  • A caffeine routine that has crept up, one size and one refill at a time.
  • Wanting to cut back, without giving up coffee.

Not everyone, and not every day. But if two or more of those landed, keep reading.

The idea

Not another productivity hack

You've probably tried the system. The app, the planner, the 5 AM alarm, the "just one more espresso." Most of those ask you to add something to an already full morning.

This is a smaller idea. Keep the coffee ritual you already like. Change how much caffeine is in it.

The question isn't coffee or no coffee. It's how much caffeine is in the cup.

The science, briefly

Why the amount of caffeine matters

Why the first cup feels like a switch. Caffeine works mainly by blocking adenosine, a compound that builds up while you're awake and helps signal that you're tired. Block it, and you feel more alert.

Why more isn't automatically better. The FDA notes that too much caffeine can bring on jitters, anxiousness, a fast heart rate, an upset stomach and trouble sleeping, and that people differ in how sensitive they are.4

Why it adds up fast. The USDA lists roughly 95 mg of caffeine in an 8 oz cup of brewed coffee,1 and many café cups are much bigger than 8 oz. For healthy adults, the FDA cites 400 mg a day as an amount not generally associated with negative effects.4

And the mid-morning bathroom trip? Researchers have observed that coffee can stimulate the colon in some people, and that the effect isn't explained by caffeine alone.2 That's coffee being coffee. No mug, ours included, can promise to change it.

Meet STILL™

Keep the coffee. Rethink the caffeine.

STILL™ Mushroom Coffee is a coffee powder you stir into water or milk. It's made with coffee powder and Coffea arabica bean extract, so it's real coffee, at about 50 mg of caffeine per serving: roughly half of a typical 8 oz brewed cup.

Then it adds what regular coffee doesn't: three functional mushroom extracts (Lion's Mane, Cordyceps militaris and Turkey Tail), ashwagandha root, prebiotic fiber from chicory root, and collagen peptides.

What the switch looks like

Same mornings. A different cup.

The 8 AM lecture

Kettle in the dorm, one scoop, out the door. No machine, no line.

The first deep-work block

Make the cup, close the inbox, open one tab. The ritual becomes the starting line for the task that actually matters.

The 2 PM meeting

Want a second cup? Two servings of STILL is about 100 mg of caffeine, roughly one typical brewed cup.

The "I'll start in five minutes" person

A small ritual can mark the start of work, and making a cup is a good one. It won't do the work for you. Nothing in a mug will.

The case for STILL™

7 reasons to make the switch

Each reason links a real problem to a real ingredient, at the exact amount on the label. We also tell you how strong the evidence is, because "studied" can mean a lot of different things.*

1

Coffee, at a more moderate dose

Verified: label + USDA
  • The problemSome coffee drinkers love the ritual, but not the overstimulated feeling.
  • The featureAbout 50 mg of caffeine per 6 g serving.
  • The benefitA more moderate caffeine option that's still coffee.
  • The evidenceThe USDA lists about 95 mg in an 8 oz cup of brewed coffee.1
2

It's still coffee, and it takes a minute

Ingredient list + customer reviews
  • The problemMost "coffee alternatives" ask you to give up the taste.
  • The featureMade with coffee powder and Coffea arabica bean extract. One scoop, hot water, stir.
  • The benefitA cup that tastes like coffee, black, with milk, or over ice.
  • The evidenceThe ingredient list, and reviews on our product page (below). Taste is personal, so opened bags are covered by the 30-day guarantee.
3

Lion's Mane, added for focus support*

Early human research
  • The problemThe work that needs focus rarely lines up with your caffeine peak.
  • The feature290 mg Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus) fruiting-body extract.
  • The benefitAn ingredient people choose to support focus and mental clarity.*
  • The evidenceHuman studies are small, with mixed results. A 2023 pilot study in 41 healthy young adults used 1.8 g a day.5 STILL uses less, and no study has tested the STILL formula itself.
4

Cordyceps, added for natural energy support*

Preliminary research + traditional use
  • The problemLess caffeine can make people worry about running out of steam.
  • The feature270 mg Cordyceps militaris fruiting-body extract.
  • The benefitAn ingredient people choose to support natural energy and stamina.*
  • The evidenceHuman research is limited and mixed, and many studies used other cordyceps species or blends. It has a long history in traditional East Asian use. Treat it as promising, not proven.
5

Ashwagandha, added for everyday stress support*

Human studies (short-term)
  • The problemA busy day can feel louder after a lot of caffeine.
  • The feature230 mg ashwagandha root extract.
  • The benefitAn adaptogen people choose to support a calmer response to everyday stress.*
  • The evidenceAccording to the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, several 6–8 week trials suggest ashwagandha extracts may help with stress, at 240–1,250 mg a day.3 STILL's 230 mg is just below that range.
6

Prebiotic fiber in every cup*

Established ingredient · modest amount
  • The problemYour daily cup could be doing a little more than delivering caffeine.
  • The feature350 mg inulin from chicory root.
  • The benefitPrebiotic fiber that supports healthy digestion as part of your routine.*
  • The evidenceInulin is a recognized prebiotic.6 350 mg is a modest amount, so think "built in," not "fiber supplement."
7

A label you can actually read

Verified: Supplement Facts
  • The problemMany blends hide behind a "proprietary blend."
  • The featureEvery active ingredient is listed with its exact amount, including Turkey Tail (300 mg) and hydrolyzed bovine collagen peptides (340 mg).
  • The benefitYou know exactly what you're drinking and can compare.
  • The evidenceThe full panel is below. Turkey Tail research is mostly lab-based, and collagen studies usually use grams, so we don't make headline promises for either.

Your questions, answered straight

Does it actually taste like coffee?

It's made with coffee powder and Coffea arabica bean extract, so yes, it's coffee. Taste is personal, which is why opened bags are covered by the guarantee.

Does it taste like mushrooms?

The mushrooms are concentrated extracts, not sliced mushrooms. One reviewer on our product page writes, "I do not taste earthiness." If you disagree, you're covered.

Why does it have less caffeine?

Because the point is coffee without overdoing it. About 50 mg is roughly half of what the USDA lists for an 8 oz brewed cup.

Is 50 mg enough if I'm used to coffee?

For some people, yes. Others make STILL their first cup and keep one regular coffee, or have a second serving (about 100 mg in total). Everyone's sensitivity is different.

Why add functional mushrooms?

Lion's Mane, Cordyceps militaris and Turkey Tail are popular functional ingredients with early, growing research. We list the exact amounts and tell you where the evidence is strong and where it isn't.

Are the ingredients clearly labeled?

Yes. All seven actives, by the milligram, plus the other ingredients: coffee powder, maltodextrin, silicon dioxide. It contains bovine collagen, so it isn't vegan.

How many servings do I get?

38 servings of 6 g per 230 g bag. The Duo has 76 and the Trio 114.

Is it worth the price?

On Subscribe & Save it's $0.79–$0.95 per serving, and $0.59–$0.76 on a first order with FIRSTSTILL. Compare that with what your coffee costs now.

Why not just drink regular coffee?

Regular coffee is great. STILL is for people who want the coffee ritual with about half the caffeine and a few functional ingredients built in.

What if I don't like it?

Email hello@getstill.us within 30 days of delivery with your order number for a full refund of your purchase price, even if the bag is opened.

Is this a subscription?

Yes. No commitment and no cancellation fee. Email hello@getstill.us or use the contact form to cancel, pause or skip. Cancel before your next billing date to avoid the next charge.
